From vaccinations, to cardiovascular drugs, to treatments that manage chronic conditions, medicines help you and your family stay in good health. Carlos Galindo-Elvira, Chief Development Officer at Valle del Sol knows this first-hand. Valle del Sol provides primary and behavioral health care services to the Phoenix community. We spoke to Carlos at the National Council of La Raza Annual Convention, where Valle del Sol had just won the Southwest Regional Affiliate Award for their admirable work helping people become healthier physically and mentally.
Carlos works in a pediatric clinic, where he sees everyday the positive effects that today's medical treatments and cures have on children--and the reassurance new medicines can bring to families who know that their children will stay healthy. "Medicines make a big difference in the quality of life of individuals, he says, "whether it's insulin, or it's a vaccination for a childhood disease, or it's just a flu shot. Medicine matters."
We agree. Along with our community of individuals and organizational partners from all over the country, we advocate for policies that encourage innovation and support the cutting-edge science we need to develop the safe and effective medicines of the future. Science has come a long way over the last several decades, but there's plenty of opportunity to develop new, breakthrough treatments and cures. We hope you'll join CMM in supporting policies that promote medical innovation and help the United States continue to lead the world in the discovery and delivery of lifesaving medicines.
