The 2012 eAdvocacy Summit Begins Friday

The CMM team is headed to Washington, D.C. this week to take part in the second annual eAdvocacy Summit! We'll be joining leaders from healthcare non-profits, advocacy groups, and think tanks to talk about how organizations can better use digital tools to advocate for public policy.

There's a great line-up of speakers and panelists on everything from digital engagement in state and federal politics to the best way to amplify your organization's voice online by using social media. We're especially excited to hear from keynote speaker Erik Qualman, author of the book Socialnomics: How Social Media Transforms the Way We Live and Do Business.

We know for certain that using digital tools like Twitter, Facebook, and blogs are a great way to get involved in the health care policy discussion--thanks to your support both on and offline, we've successfully advocated for policies like the Prescription Drug User Fee Act and Medicare Part D. We'll also be meeting up with some of the Campaign's partners, like NAMI Maryland and MassBIO; in fact, our partner the Global Healthy Living Foundation is a co-founder of the eAdvocacy Summit.

We hope to see you there! If you can't make it, follow us on Twitter for live updates from the Summit, and use the hashtag #eAdv to join the conversation. We'll also be back next week with a blog post on what we learned.
