The holiday season is always a hectic one! But no matter how busy you are, don't forget to keep your health and the health of your loved ones in mind. Medicare Part D open enrollment, which began six weeks ago, officially closes this Sunday, December 7. Before the marketplace closes, we're taking a look at how Part D gives back to seniors well beyond the holidays.

Getting people to agree on anything can be challenging, but for the ninth year in a row, an overwhelming majority of the the 37 million Medicare beneficiaries agree that Part D works. An astounding 95% of beneficiaries say the program gives them a sense of comfort knowing they'll have prescription coverage when they need it. Thanks to the savings Part D provides, seniors can stick to their doctor-recommended prescription plans and stay healthier, longer. In fact, 62% of beneficiaries said they might be forced to cut back on their prescription intake or halt taking their medicines altogether if they did not have Part D coverage.

As Part D's 11th anniversary nears, the open enrollment period serves as a reminder that the program continues to deliver on its promise of allowing seniors to access the medicines they need at prices that work for them.
