Giving Thanks for Digital Advocacy

Every Thanksgiving, my family goes around the table and everyone lists why they are thankful. The kids usually have the best answers - like ice cream and iPads. I'm thankful for a lot, including my family, my dogs, and my fantasy football team. And, of course, I'm thankful for the developments that make our jobs easier. Here are just a few of my favorite digital updates from the past year.

  • Twitter no longer counts photos and links in the 140 character limit. Did you know tweets with photos get 313% more engagement? With these updates, crafting the perfect, engaging tweet is easier than ever.
  • Instagram analytics are on the way! Facebook is slowly rolling out Instagram Insights to Business Profiles. These new features offer vital information on your audience and can give you valuable insight into improving your Instagram account.
  • I truly "like" the new Facebook reactions. These new features give you a better sense of how your advocates feel about your content. While some feared these reactions could be a headache for community managers, I've found that these nuances allow advocates to engage more frequently with posts.
